The DCMS (UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) has announced that Sports Pilot events are to continue in September but with a reduced capacity set at 1000.  Plans with regards to fans attending sports stadia from the 1st October are under review and more announcements will be made in due course.

This will be seen as a huge blow to the non league community and given that Step 1 and 2 of the Non League Pyramid has delayed their season until October as no guidance has been given and permission granted for allowing fans to attend matches there must be concern as to whether the season will now start on the 5th of October as planned. The 5th is also the date that the step 2 sides are due to enter the FA Cup. Steps 3 and below have had permission for fans (at a tiered capacity) to attend matches for the last couple of weeks.

For Non League Finals day the capacity of 1000 fans means that clubs if given tickets will only be given a maximum of 250 a club. Normally a huge number of tickets are allocated to member clubs and local football associations, players and officials of clubs involved are normally granted a number of tickets. If these allocations remain it seems doubtful that club fans will be able to attend.

Wembley Stadium has a capacity of 90000 so a 1000 allocation is a 90th of the total capacity. Given the stadium is used to dealing with large crowd numbers and has very good facilities throughout the stadium unless they feel that the local infrastructure could be an issue or fans congregating outside the stadium before and after the match it does seem that an opportunity has been lost to allow a larger fan set attend.
Normally on Non League Finals Day other than neutral fans you find that the fans for the clubs involved for the vase and trophy finals  in the main only attend their own matches. This seasons FA Vase final is being contested between two northern sides so I can't see too many fans staying around for the trophy final the same could be said of Harrogate or Notts County fans if they make it through to the final of the trophy attending the vase final.

Update (11/09/2020): the finals day has now been postponed due to concern over such a small number of fans being allowed in and will be re-arranged once fan levels in attendance are allowed to be increased  Source the fa
