An agreement has finally been made about the conclusion of the three National Leagues.

The leagues will be decided on an unweighted (points per game scenario) ppg. Initially the National League board had indicated to clubs in the National Leagues North and South that playoffs would not be possible due to government policy re only elite sports could commence. Elite being defined under various categories with the category that could only be considered being players deriving their primary income from the sport. The National League board considered that only the clubs in the National League met this criteria. This also meant that one club Chorley would be relegated from the National League and in fact would be the only club relegated in the whole Non League Structure

This decision was challenged by the clubs in the National Leagues North and South and it was agreed that playoffs could go ahead subject to government approval and all clubs agreeing to meet the costs of staging the games behind closed doors, paying players salaries and any covid-19 testing that would be required. Rumours of costs being around £60K. Its not clear to me whether this cost is the minimum cost  ie would clubs that progress through the playoffs incur more costs than those knocked out at the first game.

The National League playoff final would not be played at Wembley Stadium but at a neutral venue yet to be decided.

The clubs involved the playoffs are to make a decision on their involvement though no time frame is known at this point. If less than 4 clubs at each level agree to take part then the playoffs at that level will not occur. It seems that the majority of clubs are indicating their willingness to take part.

The National League playoffs will be screened live on BT Sport, there are on going discussions re screening the National Leagues South and North playoffs
